fee ranging from $15 to $25.

What is a maintenance fee?
A maintenance fee is determined by how much moisturizing and detangling
a stylist most do prior to the actual braid style.
For instance, if your baby girl has low-maintenance hair that you were able
to clean and detangle prior to her hair appointment allowing the stylist to
begin braiding almost immediately after arrival than you will not be subject
to a maintenance fee.
However, if the stylist has to do a good amount of sectioning and detangling
for the child or the child has very dense hair she may inquire a maintenance
fee up to $25

BRAID EDUCATION
Just like any other protective style that we perform - from braids, bantu knots or bee-hive bases for weave installs,
we seal the natural hair completely with a natural oil or heavy cream to last your first weeks of braid wear. This is a very important part of your braid experience. Your hair being properly moisturized and sealed closed is your first step of
braid protection. With a small amount of heat also applied, everything good is sealed into your hair shaft and
everything bad, such as alcohols, grease, un-natural products and dryness is sealed out of the natural hair.
This process takes all of 15-20 minutes before your braid install and will protect your hair from any products that you may use for styling purposes. With damaging elements unable to insert the hair shaft and damage the
hair your braids will have MORE opportunity to grow.
Although, AZ Summer Stylez considers prepping to be an important step in a protective style.
How the hair is handled and braided is most important. Knowing the purpose of braiding and using the correct methods to wrap the synthetic hair around the client's natural hair without suffocating the strands can be a chore but it is priority. Tucking all of the hair inside of the braid is vital for protection. Remember, synthetic hair is stronger than our natural hair which can cause damage if too much friction is put forth. After any set of braids are installed, one sweat can cause the hair to swell - IF the synthetic hair is too tight it will become a weapon and cut your natural hair in many areas, leading to damage and loss of hair in that section.

Note: It is natural to see a small amount of hair fall from the braid after a couple months of braid wear. Our hair sheds daily and the strands tend to lock inside of the braids until they are removed, but too much tension will cause a mass amount of hair loss and pain to the head during session.
When your hair is completely braided it is a recommended to keep a simple regimen for braid growth.
AZSS braid stylist helps clients who are interested in retaining the maximum amount of new growth and simply
teaches the tools to all clients. Braid Maintenance, Re-touches and Take-Downs are available upon request.

We started out as a home-based business in Mesa offering pain-free box braids and natural hair styles. Our head stylist is originally from Pasadena, CA and served the Hollywood and Pasadena Areas as a full-time braider and stylist. Since then we have held several locations and private suites in Ahwatukee, AZ and Chandler, AZ. Still providing the same 5 Star service, we are offering natural hair services in the city of Maricopa, AZ off the 347 freeway - South of Chandler and Ahwatukee. When growing the natural hair it is important to add the correct amount of extension hair to your hair based on the texture and density.

California Braid Stylist has a Soft, California, Hollywood Braiding Style that attracts attention to the quality and the health of the natural hair.
These braids are the newest service which we refer to as No-Knot Box Braids for adults. These braids are not for everyone and are recommended to only a few hair textures. When you book this service ask the stylist if this is a good choice for your hair.

Large and Medium Size No-Knot Box Braids are available at $230.
This style can be requested with or without braiding hair being provided. Clients who choose to purchase braiding hair in-store locally remember that we recommend these braiding hair brands- Bobby Boss, Rasta-Fri and Expressions. For those who want hair provided at a $30 Flat Rate please request. Hair available in #2 and #4
